The Big Friendly Squid [Open]

Matthew loved the hot weather. It was so different from Canada, and he loved it. But that wasn't the only reason he was outside in shorts and a tee-shirt, with sandal-clad feet. No, he had heard rumors from the other students (The ones who weren't there on the exchange program) that there was a giant squid in there. Ok, it wasn't just a rumor, apparently it was 100% true, and that gave Matthew all the more reason to go see it for himself.

The water sparkled in the sunlight and Matthew had to shield his eyes. He wished that he had sunglasses to help protect him from the sun's glare, but sadly he didn't. The sun was preventing him from being able to see under the water's surface, so he wondered what to do next. He could toss something into the water and see what happened? If only there was someone else there, he could ask for advice...
